CHP: Woman Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit and run, where a 39-year-old San Jose woman was killed Friday morning.

Motorists spotted the body just after 3:15 a.m. on southbound Interstate 280 before near McLaughlin Avenue offramp in San Jose, and called 911, according to the CHP.

Three lanes were shut down for hours during the morning commute as part of the investigation.

CHP Officer D.J. Sarabia said they don't know why Amanda Vente was on the freeway in the first place, or who struck her. They did say that they found a set of keys on her.

Anyone with information about the death is asked to call the CHP at 408-467-5400.
