Woman's Body Found Near Suspected Hit-And-Run Vehicle: Milpitas Police

A woman's body was found inside a crumpled silver Cadillac, which had been scorched by fire, after police suspect that she hit a garbage truck in Milpitas and fled the scene.

Police Lt.  Kevin Moscuzza said he suspects the woman who was killed is also the driver who initiated the hit-and-run early Wednesday morning. Police have not yet released her identity.

Police were called out to the scene after another woman called 911 at 3:36 a.m. to say "I've been hit."

Police now say that woman was in a blue garbage truck that was hit at Jacklin Road and North Milpitas Boulevard. The woman in the garbage truck was not seriously injured. Another person was in the garbage truck too, and that person was also uninjured. Both were cooperating with police.

Police then followed a trail of evidence leading officers to the suspected hit-and-run vehicle about a half-mile away on Coyote Street.

That's where they found the woman's body inside the Cadillac, which had been eaten up by flames.
