World Series Celebrations Caused $140K in Damage to SF Muni Vehicles

Nearly 30 Muni vehicles were damaged, causing at least $140,000 in repair bills, during the celebrations across San Francisco following the Giants' clinching of their third World Series title in five years, according to officials, who added the damage estimate is "very conservative."

The San Francisco Examiner reported that one new hybrid bus alone received $14,000 worth of "broken windows and graffiti tags" as well as damaged doors.

In 2012, revelers set on fire a Muni bus that had just undergone a $300,000 renovation. The $700,000 bus was a total loss, according to the newspaper.
