WrestleMania at Levi's Stadium to Bring Economic Boost in South Bay

About 100,000 wrestling fans are expected to invade the South Bay this weekend. for WrestleMania. The so-called Super Bowl of wrestling will be held Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.

Festivities for the event kicked off Wednesday, with a few World Wrestling Entertainment stars spending time with young fans at Packard Children's Hospital.

"To be honest, these kind of events are important than the main stage. Putting smiles on these kids' faces -- it's humbling and we're blessed to do this," said the Usos, WWE tag team champions.

WrestleMania is expected to bring a sellout crowd from all over the country and local businesses are jumping on the wrestling bandwagon.

Erich Smith, a general manager for the local Hilton, said the hotels will sell out Saturday and Sunday. "There's 75,000 people coming. They've got to eat somewhere, drink somewhere -- the ripple effect financially everybody feels.

WrestleMania also marks a homecoming for WWE Diva Eva Marie, a Concord native.

"I'm from the Bay Area and this is amazing for me and the Usos," Marie said. "Anything we can do -- we want to come to the community and let people know we're in town."
