Suspect Killed After Shots Fired on Cop HQ, Buildings in Austin

Police shot and killed a male suspect after "multiple buildings" were fired on in downtown Austin, Texas, authorities said early Friday, NBC News reported. The city's police headquarters was among those targeted and the building was evacuated. NBC station KXAN reported that a bomb robot was checking out a device left near the police department's headquarters. Officials said earlier they were awaiting clearance from police to approach the wounded suspect amid fears the suspicious object may be a "booby-trap," Austin Travis County EMS spokesman Mike Benavides said.
