Hillary Clinton's campaign said Saturday that Democratic rival Bernie Sanders has rejected three proposed debate dates ahead of the New York primary on April 19, NBC News reported.
In a statement, Clinton's campaign said it offered April 4, but the Sanders team wanted the debate after the Wisconsin primary on April 5. Clinton officials then offered April 14 and April 15 as potential dates and those were also rejected by the Sanders campaign.
“Both offers for the night of April 14 and the morning of April 15 still remain," Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon wrote. "The Sanders campaign needs to stop with the games."
The Sanders campaign, however, responded that they have proposed other dates the Clinton campaign has rejected.
"Unfortunately, the dates and venues [Clinton] has proposed don't make a whole lot of sense," Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs said in a statement. "The idea that they want a debate in New York on a night of the NCAA finals — with Syracuse in the tournament, no less — is ludicrous."
