A court in Oslo, Norway, ruled Wednesday that right-wing extremist and mass killer Anders Behring Breivik's human rights have been violated in prison, NBC News reported.
Breivik was convicted of terrorism and mass murder for 2011 bomb and gun attacks in Norway that killed 77 people. He claimed his prison conditions violate the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), which prohibits inhuman and degrading treatment. He complained at a hearing last month that he is being held in isolation and prison authorities are not permitting him to communicate with, or receive visits from, other extremists.
His other claim, that the government had also violated his right to respect for private and family life, was dismissed.
