A judge says that prosecutors can use a confession made by a woman charged along with her newlywed husband with luring a Pennsylvania man through Craigslist and killing him.
Northumberland County Judge Charles Saylor said Thursday that the confession can be used against Miranda Barbour at her trial.

A public defender tried to get the December confession thrown out, arguing she wasn't provided an attorney during questioning. Prosecutors said Barbour wasn't given a public defender during the interview because she had come to the state police barracks voluntarily, and wasn't under arrest or charged at the time.
Investigators say Barbour stabbed 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara about 20 times in her parked car as her husband Elytte Barbour held a cord against his neck from the back seat.
They have pleaded not guilty.
