Police Work to Rule Out Trooper Ambush Suspect Eric Frein Link in Car Theft

A car stolen in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains has turned up about 100 miles north in New York, and authorities are working to rule out any connection to a man being sought for the killing of a Pennsylvania state trooper.

The sheriff's office in Delaware County, New York, said Thursday there is no indication the 2012 Porsche Cayman found in Bovina is connected to the case of Eric. But it says it's taking precautions.

Pennsylvania State Police also say it's unknown if there is a link.

A manhunt for Frein remains underway in the Pocono Mountains, not far from where the trooper was killed Sept. 12.

The Porsche was reported stolen Saturday to the Pocono Mountain Regional Police, outside the Frein search area. There was a suspected Frein sighting in the Poconos on Monday.
