Fisher-Price Recalls 34,000 Cradle ‘n Swings Over Fall Hazard

Fisher-Price has received two reports of a seat peg coming out from the seat, causing the seat to fall

Fisher-Price is recalling 34,000 cradles after receiving reports the seat could detach and fall, posing a risk of injurty to the child, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recall applies to three models, including the CHM84 Soothing Savanna Cradle 'n Swing, the CMR40 Sweet Surroundings Cradle 'n Swing and the CMR43 Sweet Surroundings Butterfly Friends Cradle 'n Swing. The product number for each is located under the seat pad.

According to the CPSC, a seat peg on the cradle can come loose, causing the seat to fall. Fisher-Price has reported two such incidents, but no injuries.

The cradles, manufactured in Mexico, were sold between November 2015 and March 2016 at Target, buybuybaby, Amazon and other national retailers, according to the CPSC. They sold for around $170 each.

The company said consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately and contact Mattel and Fisher-Price customer service for revised assembly instructions.

Fisher-Price has asked consumers to report the incident either via phone at 800-432-5437 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT or via the company's recall site.
