Hearings Scheduled in Aaron Hernandez Case

A Massachusetts judge set two future hearing dates for former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez in the 2012 killing of two Boston men.

Hernandez is accused of gunning down the men after a chance encounter at a Boston nightclub. He has pleaded not guilty.

Jury selection was scheduled to begin this month in Suffolk Superior Court, but the judge agreed to delay the trial, citing a pending appeal over evidence.

A Feb. 6 hearing was set to discuss a motion to intervene, and a May 3 status hearing was also scheduled. The appeal will likely be addressed during the latter.

Hernandez is not expected to attend either hearing. A trial date has not been set.

Hernandez is already serving a life sentence after being convicted last year of the 2013 murder of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd, who was dating his fiancee's sister.
