Gunshots Reported at Stadium in Miami

Police responded to Nathaniel Traz-Powell Stadium Friday night after there were reports of gunshots fired.

The stadium is located near Miami-Dade College's North Campus at 11380 Northwest 27th Avenue in Miami. Miami Central High School and Carol City Senior High School were playing when the reported incident happened.

Alberto Carvalho, the Superintendent of Miami-Dade Public Schools took to Twitter just after the incident happened.

"Sadly and unacceptably, community violence continues to impact Miami's youth. Solutions require us to remove blinders and sharpen vision," he said on the social media site.

Photos and video on social media showed players and fans in the stands ducking for cover, and running from the stadium.

According to witnesses, the field and stands were immediately cleared.

Police were searching vehicles outside the stadium. According to school board police, three adults were arrested in connection to the case.

Police say they initially arrested five people and confiscated two firearms. Later on in the evening, two additional people were arrested and a third firearm was confiscated. All three firearms were loaded.

It's unclear whether any injuries were reported.
