Bernie Sanders Courts Major Union Endorsement

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is the first of three Democratic presidential candidates in Las Vegas pitching his candidacy to Nevada's labor unions at the AFL-CIO's state convention.

Sanders was scheduled to speak early Tuesday afternoon, local time, at the annual Nevada AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention at the Luxor hotel-casino followed by remarks from Hillary Rodham Clinton. Clinton hosted a town hall in North Las Vegas and planned to tour a local carpenter union's training center before attending the convention. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O' Malley is expected to speak to the convention Wednesday morning.

All the Democratic candidates are vying for critical labor union endorsements.

Sanders is flying to Reno afterward where he's hosting a 7 p.m. rally at the University of Nevada, Reno campus.
