Insanity Defense Possible, Says Lawyer for Fake Teen Doctor in Palm Beach County

He claims to have a doctorate from the Universal Life Church, which sells them online for $29.95

The trial of a Florida teenager accused of pretending to be a doctor and stealing money from an elderly patient is being delayed so his attorney can consider an insanity defense.

According to The Palm Beach Post, Circuit Judge Krista Marx on Monday postponed Malachi Love-Robinson's trial from September to November. Attorney Leonard Feuer says a recent mental health evaluation of his 19-year-old client has him considering an insanity defense.

Love-Robinson was arrested in February after deputies say he was practicing medicine without a license and stole more than $35,000 from a patient.

Love-Robinson has denied the charges, saying he never said he was a medical doctor. He claims to have a doctorate from the Universal Life Church, which sells them online for $29.95.
