Man, Woman Arrested After Armed Robbery at Taco Truck in Boyle Heights

The two tried to flee in a Chevrolet Camaro but collided with two other vehicles. They then allegedly kidnapped a driver and demanded the driver take them from the scene.

A man and a woman were arrested Thursday night after allegedly committing an armed robbery at a taco truck, colliding with at least two cars and forcing a driver at gunpoint to drive from the crime scene, officials said.

The pair is accused of robbing customers at the Tacos "Los Gueros" taco truck in front of the Food for Less grocery store in the 3500 block of Olympic Boulevard in Boyle Heights around 11 p.m. Thursday.

The suspects tried to drive away in a silver Chevrolet Camaro, but struck at least two cars, Los Angeles police said. They fired at least two shots from a handgun at some point during the robbery and collisions, police said.

The suspects then ran from the Camaro and into a white Lexus, forcing its driver to drive them away from the scene. Police detained the suspects about two blocks from the taco truck.

Two women injured in the traffic collision were hospitalized. Details regarding their conditions were not immediately available.
