Mom Helped by Cop After Shoplifting Diapers Facing Federal Drug Charges

A homeless Kansas City mother of six who drew national attention and community support after a police officer paid for diapers she was shoplifting was arrested on federal drug charges Friday, NBC News reported.

Robinson was caught stealing a few hundred dollars worth of diapers, children's shoes and other items for her children from a Walmart outside Kansas City, Missouri, last month. The responding officer didn’t arrest Robinson and paid for the items instead.

Sarah Robinson, 34, was arrested on federal methamphetamine charges out of Missouri, her lawyer in the theft case, David Langston, told NBC News on Sunday. The indictment, which was issued by a grand jury in March 2014, alleges that she possessed and intended to distribute the drug.
