Apple's iCloud Targeted in Chinese Hacking Attack: Report

Chinese authorities have tried to gain access to the customer data held on Apple's iCloud storage and backup system, according to research by an organization that monitors web usage in China, NBC News reported. GreatFire.org alleged that data such as iMessages, photos and contacts may have been compromised in what the internet watchdog calls a clear "malicious attack.” The organization also suggested that the incident may be somehow related to ongoing Hong Kong protests. Meanwhile, Apple said Tuesday it was aware of such attacks and they do not compromise the company's servers.
