Two little girls from Russia have sent a thank you note to NYPD detectives who likely saved their father's life during a Los Angeles street attack.
The NYPD has posted the hand-written note from Nelli and Eva Makrich on its website.
"Thank you so much you saved my dad (sic)," the girls wrote. "Thank you that now I can to be with my father!"

Detectives Albert Ramos and Daniel Mulligan were in Los Angeles on official business when they subdued a man who was slashing Michael Makrich on Nov. 18 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Makrich, a tourist from Russia who was with Nelli, Eva and his wife, was stabbed by a homeless man at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue after some sort of confrontation, the LAPD said.

The plainclothes NYPD officers immediately went to assist the victim, described as being between 25-to-30 years old, and held the assailant until LAPD arrived and took him into custody.
"They saw what was going on, intervened, stopped it — arrested the suspect and handed him over to us," LAPD Hollywood Capt. Pete Zarcone said.
Makrich suffered a neck wound and required surgery.
The New York officers were looking for a suspect wanted in New York, according to the NYPD. They were not identified at the time because they were still on assignment in L.A.
His children's thank you note includes a drawing of an angel, complete with wings and a halo.
