New York City Tour Bus Driver Charged in Fatal Delaware Crash

Delaware State Police have charged the New York City driver of a tour bus that crashed in New Castle, killing two passengers and injuring dozens.

Troopers said Tuesday that 56-year-old Jinli Zhao of Flushing, New York, has been charged with two counts of the operation of a vehicle causing death of another person.

Fifty-four-year-old Hua'y Chen of New York City and 30-year-old Idil Bahsi of Istanbul, Turkey, were killed in Sunday's crash. Police say 49 passengers were on the bus when it drove onto a curve exit ramp and overturned.

State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack said in a news release that Zhao was driving at an unsafe speed as it entered the curve.

Zhao is being held on $5,000 secured bond. It is not known if he has a lawyer.
