North Korea Mulling Plan to Strike Guam, State Media Announces

North Korea is "seriously reviewing" a plan to fire missiles at the United States territory of Guam, state media reported Wednesday (local time), according to NBC News.

The provocative statement from the Korean People's Army, meant to "send a stern warning" to the U.S., came hours after President Donald Trump told the regime that "North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury."

North Korea also said, in another statement that came from a different military spokesman, that it could carry out a pre-emptive operation at signs of U.S. provocation, Reuters reported.

American officials believe the isolated, bellicose nation can now put a nuclear weapon on a missile, NBC News reported Tuesday, confirming a report in The Washington Post.
