A convicted murderer who triggered a manhunt after escaping from an Ohio prison over the weekend has been recaptured, NBC News reported.
John Modie, who was sentenced to a minimum 15-year jail term in 2003 for kidnapping and murdering a woman, was caught "without incident" in Nelsonville, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said in a statement early Tuesday.
The 58-year-old was discovered missing from the nearby Southeastern Correctional Complex, about 60 miles from Columbus, during a routine count.
