Prep School of Convicted Grad to Host Social Media Forum

Six months after a New Hampshire prep school graduate was convicted of sexual assault and using a computer to lure a 15-year-old girl for sex, the school is planning a symposium on adolescent development, human sexuality, technology and more.

The symposium is scheduled for June at St. Paul's School in Concord. It will bring together school leaders and experts in adolescent development, empathy, sexuality, technology, and social media.

St. Paul Rector Michael Hirschfeld said Friday that school leaders have been discussing the impact of technology on adolescent relationships for years. He said the Owen Labrie case provided more focus on what they wanted to examine.

Labrie was 18 at the time of a 2014 sexual encounter with the girl. He was sentenced to a year in jail. He remains free pending his appeal.
