The wife of a convicted sex offender was arrested Tuesday after leaving her husband alone with her child, whom the man molested, according to state police.
State police said Leigh Newton, 60, of Stafford, allowed her husband, John Newton, to be alone with the child last November. John Newton molested the child and was charged with multiple counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Leigh was charged with risk of injury to a minor and released on $10,000 bond. She is due in court on July 15.
It wasn't immediately clear if she had an attorney.
