No Injuries Reported in South Carolina Mall Shooting

The Richland County Sheriff's Department had no information on injuries or arrests.

No injuries when an apparent fist fight led to a shooting at a mall outside South Carolina's capital city Saturday night, according to Columbia Police Chief Skip Jp;brppl/

Holbrook said two men fired guns in the air just after 7 p.m. Saturday in front of a jewelry store at the Columbiana Centre mall. Holbrook said the dispute started as a fight between two people, and another joined in.

Officers have not found any of the three people they think are involved, according to Holbrook, who said officers have checked all local hospitals and not found anyone who had been shot.

The chief said police are hoping to review surveillance video soon. Two hours after the shooting, people were still hunkered down hiding inside stores, Holbrook said.

A woman shopping with her daughters and one of their friends described the scene in a text message to NBC News.

"We heard what we assume were the shots and then all of the gates started going down in the store fronts. The people screaming and running in the mall. The lights are off inside of all the stores now and cops are everywhere," said Anabell Martin.

Another woman, an employee at an Express store in the mall, said the mall has been evacuated and people are being asked to get into their cars.

"We are being escorted around the perimeter. The mall is surrounded by a wall of police cars," Arianna M. told NBC News.

Columbiana Centre has several anchor stores, a food court and dozens of retail shops.
