Missing US Student Found Dead in Siberia: State Department

A missing U.S. student studying in Russia was found dead near a mountainous region in Siberia

The body of an American student who went missing in Siberia has been found, the State Department said Monday, NBC News reported. 

Colin Madsen, a 25-year-old from Missouri, left a guesthouse in the Russian village of Arshan on March 27, reportedly without a coat. Madsen spoke fluent Russian, and was studying at an exchange program in Russia since 2013.

Russia's Investigative Committee reported that Madsen's body was located about one mile from Arshan by the Sayan Mountains on Sunday. 

According to the committee, there were no signs of injury, and the cause of death and reason for his disappearance have not been determined.
