Transgender Woman Says She Was Delayed by TSA for Anatomical ‘Anomaly'

A transgender woman says she was delayed at Orlando International Airport by TSA workers who thought her body parts didn't match her gender identity, NBC News reported.

Shadi Petosky, a writer and producer, says the incident caused her to miss her flight on Monday and tweeted about the ordeal.

Petosky was told the body scanner she stepped into picked up an “anomaly” in her crotch area, she told NBC News via text message. She said she informed the TSA agent she was a transgender woman, but was told she would have to be searched.

The Transportation Security Administration said it is looking into the incident. Petosky's version of the airport events could not be independently confirmed by NBC News.
