Swapping Lemonade for Hot Cocoa, Boy's Cancer Fundraiser Still Going in the Summer

For the last seven months, a boy in Denver has been raising money for the hospital that saved his friend. Tristan Regini sold hot cocoa when he started in February, but when life sent him hot weather, he switched to lemonade.

This Sunday, Tristan, 8, raised more than $300, bringing his tally to $7,580, NBC affiliate KUSA reported.

The money is a "thank you" to Children's Hospital Colorado, which successfully treated Tristan's friend Cade Humphreys, who's now free of his brain cancer.

"They saved his life. And I've been raising money to pay back the doctors that saved his life," Tristan told KUSA.

Tristan and his team are also raising money through the Children's Hospital Colorado website, and have brought in over 70 percent of their $10,000 goal.
