Valet Testifies on Possible Gun Sighting in the Aaron Hernandez Murder Trial

A valet manager at a Boston hotel has testified at Aaron Hernandez's murder trial that he saw what he believed to be a gun tucked in the former NFL player's waistband two nights before the killing.

Samson Michael testified Tuesday that he saw Hernandez outside the W Hotel at around 1:30 am. June 15, two days before Odin Lloyd was shot to death at an industrial park near Hernandez's home.

Michael says Hernandez had left a black SUV at the W's valet service and had come back to get something. Michael says he saw a black object he thought was a gun tucked into Hernandez's waistband as he lifted up his shirt.

Hernandez's lawyer questioned how clear his view was through an SUV window.

Lloyd, a semipro football player, was found shot multiple times in an industrial park in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, less than a mile from Hernandez’s home.

Prosecutors say Hernandez and two other men, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, picked Lloyd up at his home in Boston's Dorchester section and took him to an industrial park near Hernandez's home in North Attleborough, where he was shot to death. Prosecutors haven't said who pulled the trigger but said Hernandez orchestrated the killing. Ortiz and Wallace have pleaded not guilty to murder charges and will be tried separately.

The trial, expected to last six to 10 weeks, will not be the end of Hernandez's legal troubles. He faces separate murder charges in Boston, where he is accused of killing two men after one of them accidentally spilled a drink on him at a nightclub in 2012. The trial date has not yet been set.
