The husband of a Wisconsin woman posted his wife’s last words to social media which were written in a heartbreaking and hilarious letter.
Heather McManamy, 36, died Tuesday of breast cancer. Her husband, Jeff, posted the letter on her behalf to Facebook, which begins “So…I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is, apparently, I’m dead.”
McManamy was a mother of a young daughter and lived in McFarland, a village just outside of Madison, according to her Facebook page. She studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was a former research specialist at the university. [[363032931, C]]
In the letter, McManamy thanked her loved ones, doctors and nurses and wrote “Please don’t think of me with pity or sadness. Smile, knowing that we had a blast together and that time was AMAZING.”
McManamy also asked that no one tell her daughter, Brianna, that she is heaven because “in her mind, that means that I chose to be somewhere else and left her,” McManamy wrote.
In the end of the letter, McManamy included a request for her funeral, writing “If you go to my funeral, please run up a bar tab that would make me proud. Heck, blast ‘Keg on My Coffin’ and dance on the bar for me (because there had better be a dance party at some point).”

In the last six weeks of her life, McManamy also wrote a book called “Cards for Brianna,” which is expected to be published in April, according to a Facebook post from her husband.
McManamy gained national attention earlier this year for writing cards for her daughter to open at different life milestones, according to NBC affiliate WMTV.
