Police are calling the death of a 30-year-old woman "suspicious" after she was found dead Friday morning at a storage facility in southwest suburban Crest Hill.
Workers doing a morning drive-through when the U-Store-It at 1906 Plainfield Rd. opened at about 9 a.m. found Tiana M. Wallace dead, according to Crest Hill Police Chief Dwayne Wilkerson and the Will County coroner’s office.
A preliminary autopsy revealed Wallace may have died from hypothermia due to cold exposure. The official manner of death is pending toxicological results and police investigation, authorities said.
“We’re still treating it as suspicious,” Wilkerson said, though there were no apparent signs of trauma.
Police are interviewing the woman’s family members and people who passed through the facility in the days before Wallace was found, he said.
