Woman Who Slashed 2 on Subway, Smiled for Camera Arrested: NYPD

The Brooklyn straphanger who allegedly slashed two other riders after an argument aboard the A train was arrested Tuesday, police said.

Merci Chrisette, 28, of Bedford-Stuyvesant, was hit with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment charges for allegedly slashing a 28-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man aboard a southbound A train in Brooklyn on Dec. 18, cops said.

Video of the encounter obtained last week by Gothamist shows a woman, now identified as Chrisette, pull an encased blade out of her red purse and uncap it with her teeth, saying, "Do you want a clue of what's going to happen when I get off this train? I'm going to cut you and I'm going to get away with it. Now if you say one more word, it's going to end very badly."

The woman then turns toward the person filming and says "Hi, I'm used to cameras. Get my good side."

She then lunges at the victims with the blade, the video shows. Other riders were able to break up the squabble, but the man and woman suffered small cuts to their faces, police said.

Chrisette got off at the Nostrand stop and had been at large since the incident. Both victims refused medical attention at the scene.

Attorney information for Chrisette was not immediately available.
