UPS Truck Spills Packages on Interstate

All lanes of I-88 near Route 83 were re-opened by 10:30 a.m.

A UPS truck full of packages busted open on a Chicago-area interstate on Tuesday morning after being in a crash with two other vehicles, authorities said.

The tractor-trailer was westbound on I-88 at about 7:15 a.m. when it was struck by one vehicle from the right. The driver of the UPS truck swerved to the left and struck another vehicle before crashing into a cement median wall, officials said.

Packages were strewn about the roadway near mile post 137.

Three people were transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with injuries that weren't life-threatening.

All lanes of the interstate were re-opened by 10:30 a.m.
