Adele ‘Hello' Parody Skewers San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee

The song and its accompanying music video hits a raw nerve for some who have been forced out of San Francisco by soaring rent prices.

A new song and its accompanying video take San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee to task for a city many view as being divided between the haves and have-nots.

Candace Roberts' "Hello Ed Lee" addresses the elected official as she paints a picture of a city with obvious wealth as well as crisis in the streets.

Roberts pointedly hits a raw nerve for people who have been forced out of San Francisco.

"Hello from Vallejo," she sings. "This is just how far I had to go/Now I can pay my rent but my friends are all gone/I left my heart, wait, that's someone else's song."

She also calls out Lee's investor friend Ron Conway by name: "Has Ron Conway got your ear, planning his next big back room deal?"

And she can relate directly to the struggles in the song. Roberts, who is part of the Anti-Eviction Mapping Project, told Matier and Ross she lived out of a suitcase for four years.
