Twitter often gets mocked for the lack of good it does. And for all the living celebrities it prematurely pronounces dead.

But finally one enterprising -- and probably frustrated -- Muni rider has figured out a way to put the San Francisco-based microblogging site to good use.

Mike Monteiro developed a simple way to yell at Mayor Gavin Newsom -- an avid Twitter user himself -- every time Muni fails on you. Simply log on to his website aptly named Munifail.com and click on "Tell Gavin" and the next 140-characters are all yours.

Monteiro says he is not trying to be nasty but simply trying to mobilize numbers.

"I'd rather generate volume than vitriol," he told the N Judah Chronicles. "Hopefully, if enough people let the mayor know how this bad service is affecting them he'll be forced to fly back into town and at least address it."

That's not to say he is in love with the mayor. Monteiro's other site: hasgavinnewsomresignedyet.com.
