Noisy Hotel Strike Hits Union Square

In baseball terms we are at strike three in the San Francisco hotel workers labor dispute.
For the third time in as many weeks, hundreds of workers walked off the job at a high end hotel in the City.
This time it is the Westin St. Francis in the heart of Union Square.
Early holiday shoppers will have to deal with shouts and drums instead of fife and drums as they make their way through the best retail meca San Francisco has to offer.
Members of United Local 2 walked off the job 4 a.m. Wednesday and will not return until Saturday morning.
Similar three day strikes happened earlier this month at the city's Grand Hyatt and Palace hotels.
Hotel guests appear to be the biggest loser during the walk outs. In the past, the walkouts have meant no fresh towels or made up beds. Not to mention walking the gang plank of angry workers just to get in the front lobby.
Union leaders said workers are walking because management is asking for reductions in health and retirement benefits.
