America's Cup World Series Insider

Racing returns to the Bay from Oct. 2 - 7

The America’s Cup Worlds Series sails into its second San Francisco event over the course of Oct. 2 – 7, in what’s now the second year of this series of regattas. All of this leads up to next year’s 34th America’s Cup Finals to be held on the Bay between Sept. 7 – 22 in 2013.

After the October racing in the Bay Area, the World Series is also set for the waters of Italy in April and May of 2013 with regattas in both Venice and Naples.

The World Series events feature the AC45 catamarans (distinguished by roughly 45-foot hulls), while the AC72 class will be the boats racing in the 2013 Bay Area competitions as Oracle Team USA defends the Cup.
