Former Raiders Assistant Sues Cable, Team

Former Oakland Raiders assistant Randy Hanson has sued head coach Tom Cable and the team.

Hanson filed the lawsuit in Alameda County Superior Court Tuesday. The suit alleges that Cable committed assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress when he allegedly attacked Hanson in training camp last August. Cable was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing by the Napa County district attorney in October.

The suit says the Raiders ratified Cable's conduct by failing to discipline him and not allowing Hanson to remain as an assistant coach.

Hanson was allowed back with the team in December in the personnel department. But he wants to resume his coaching career.

Cable and the Raiders were not immediately available for comment.
