The New York Giants say playing the Oakland Raiders was "like a scrimmage".

There's usually plenty of trash-talking between the teams in the days before an NFL game. But for the New York Giants, that comes after the game.

Giants linebacker Antonio Pearce was Marty Schottenheimer's guest on Sirius NFL Radio Tuesday. "We're playing that (Raider) game the other day and, honestly, it felt like a scrimmage, like a practice," Pearce told Alex Marvez. "It felt like we were going against our offense (in practice) as far as the tempo."

"There was no vibe of trying or effort from the Raiders at all," Pearce said. "We're getting three-and-outs. You don't hear nobody (saying), 'Hey, let's go!' trying to pick the guys up, rallying them, getting guys fired up. There was nothing. It was quiet. A guy gets sacked or somebody gets beat, they just get up. It's not like there's yelling or no kind of (emotion) about the way they were playing."

And the worst part? Pearce is a Raider fan.

"It's sad because I grew up a Raiders fan," Pearce said, a native of Paramount, CA in the L.A. Raiders era. "That organization right now, they need some guidance."

We need guidance? That's coming from the guy who tried to hide Plaxico's gun in his glove compartment.

Joe Kukura is a freelance writer who has to wonder who thought Marty Schottenheimer would make an entertaining or engaging radio show host.
