Giants starting pitchers Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain and A's closer Andrew Bailey were among those selected to play in the 2009 MLB All-Star Game. Giants 3rd baseman Pablo Sandoval still has a chance to join them as the final player on the roster if he is voted in by the fans.
Lincecum, who is making his second All-Star appearance, is 9-2 with a 2.23 ERA and a league-leading 141 strikeouts. Cain is also 9-2 with a 2.48 ERA. This will be his first All-Star Game. Sandoval is batting .333 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI.
Bailey, a rookie, is 4-1 with a 2.03 ERA and nine saves.
The 2009 MLB All-Star Game will take place at Busch Stadium in St. Louis on July 14th.
