Golden State Warriors Offer Top Assistant Job to Mike Brown: Report

Golden State offered its top assistant coaching job to Mike Brown, according to The Vertical.

Brown was the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers for five seasons from 2005 to 2010.

He was the head coach of the Lakers in 2011-12, and was relieved of his duties five games into the 2012-13 season.

He returned to Cleveland for the 2013-14 campaign, but was fired by Cleveland for the second time.

Brown was the NBA Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading the Cavs to a 66-16 record.

The Warriors are looking to fill the vacancy left by Luke Walton, who left to become the head coach of the Lakers.
