A nine-time U.S. Rowing national team member, Grace Luczak was a top contender for both the women’s eight (W8+) and the women’s pair (W2-) Olympic boats for the Rio Games. After qualifying for Rio in the W2- with teammate Felice Mueller, Luczak decided to discontinue her W8+ Olympic bid and accept her W2- spot. Luczak is as versatile rower as they get – winning gold in the women’s pair and eight at the 2016 World Rowing Cup II. Furthermore, at the 2015 World Rowing Cup II, she won gold in the women’s four and eight. Luczak was also part of the world record-setting women’s eight – who finished in 5 minutes, 54.16 seconds at the 2013 World Rowing Cup III – a record that still stands.
