Kevin Durant

Country: USA
Sport: Basketball
Date of Birth: 09/29/1988
First Olympics: 2012, London

The team’s leading scorer during their 2012 gold medal-winning campaign, Kevin Durant will be one of the primary scoring threats for the United States this summer.

In his 31 USA Basketball games, Durant has racked up almost 700 points for the team. A four-time NBA scoring champion, the D.C. native’s unique combination of size and offensive virtuosity allows him to excel at both forward positions, presenting matchup nightmares for every opponent.

Named NBA MVP in 2014, Durant’s versatility translates seamlessly into the skill-oriented international game where his slender frame will not be exploited by beefier opponents. In nine seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant helped lead the team to the NBA Finals in 2012 -- the team’s first finals competition since relocating from Seattle in 2008. That same season, he ranked first in the NBA in scoring, field goals made, free throws made and minutes played per game.

Durant will start his 10th NBA season in San Francisco after he competes in Rio. It will be the start of a two-year contract he signed with the Golden State Warriors in a groundbreaking move this offseason.
