A lawyer for a woman who says Michael Jordan fathered her teenage son has withdrawn her paternity suit, but left open the possibility that it could be refiled.

Attorney Randall Kessler said Monday that Pamela Smith "stands by the facts alleged in her original filing."

Kessler says the lawsuit was withdrawn Friday without prejudice, meaning it can be refiled.

Smith filed the lawsuit in Fulton County, Ga. lat month claiming she became pregnant after an affair with Jordan in 1995.

The boy, Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds, also claimed in a YouTube video posted in December that he is Jordan's son. He says he's met Jordan before and wants him to be in his life more.

Smith originally sought to retain full custody of her son, but was pursuing child support, medical expenses and the right to have the boy's legal last name changed to Jordan.

Jordan asked the Georgia court to dismiss the lawsuit claiming he is not the father and filed a counterclaim against Smith for the false allegations, NBC Miami reported.

Why Smith decided to drop the case, however, remains unknown.
