The Texas Rangers have declared the Westin St. Francis their hotel home during their time in San Francisco.  The hotel is not only one of the finest in the City, but it also sits in the center of the City's famed Union Square.

It also sits directly across the street from a bar that prides itself on being a Giants' Faithful hangout.  Lefty O'Douls is named after New York Giants player Francis "Lefty" O'Doul -- a pitcher converted into power hitter.

Well, Lefty's management decided they couldn't just sit there without "getting in the game" so they put out the unwelcome mat. Specifically, they hired trumpeters to play in the direction of the hotel during sleep time.

The song is particularly offensive to the people of Texas. It was the one that the Santa Anna troops played prior to the Battle of the Alamo.

Giants fans cheer the effort, but Rangers fans are not taking very kindly to the disruption. They are now  flooding Lefty's with calls cheering "Go Rangers."  A Texas radio DJ told his listeners to call Lefty's and put in an order of Texas toast which is adding to the non-stop calls. Lefty's owner Nick Bovis is now answering the calls personally.

The craziness is expected to continue through the World Series.

Game No. 1 is Wednesday at 4:57 p.m. Win or lose, the Rangers should be back at the St. Francis and ready for bed some time after 10 p.m.

Good luck sleeping guys!

Below is a video clip from our sister station that includes some trash talk by our own Bob Redell. It was sparked by the Lefty O'Doul's bit.
