For a little while, it felt like the good old days at the Coliseum.

Rickey Henderson, Dave Stewart, Dave Henderson, and many more were on hand to celebrate the Oakland Athletics' 1989 World Championship before the Giants-A's game Tuesday night.

Once the game started, it was Tim Lincecum's turn to celebrate. The Giants' young righty pitched a complete game, striking out 12 (including Jack Cust four times), as San Francisco beat Oakland 4-1.

Lincecum improved to 7-2 on the season, while lowering his ERA to 2.57.

A's rookie starter Vin Mazzaro settled down after a rough start to pitch six innings, allowing four runs while striking out six.

All of the scoring took place in the first two innings. The Giants took an early 4-0 lead with two runs in the first and two more in the second.

Jason Giambi belted his tenth home run of the season in the bottom of the second to account for the A's only run.

Randy Johnson and Gio Gonzalez square off in the rubber match on Wednesday at 7:05 PM.
