Wanting to find out what it's like to look into the eyes of greatness, Iooss tracked down 10 athletes who provided the most memorable moments of the past year. In addition to Lincecum -- who is making his second cover appearance, the first on July 7, 2008 -- the list includes:

During a conversation with senior editor Stephen Cannella, Iooss described his 10 for 2010 photo sessions like this: "There's a certain aura about all great athletes. I don't know if it's because you know they're great, or they know they're great. But there's something that you sense as soon as they walk in the room."
In Lincy's case, it might also be the f-bomb he drops on you, too.
