San Jose to Host 2012 US Skating Championships

The top skating event in the country is returning to San Jose.

San Jose has won the bid to host the 2012 US Skating Championships.  San Jose beat out Kansas City to host the coveted event.  The official announcement is expected on Wednesday morning.

San Jose's bid was bolstered by high profile Bay Area skating legends including Kristi Yamaguchi, Rudy Galindo and Peggy Fleming. 

The HP Pavilion, which hosted the 1996 US Championships, will once again be the venue in 2012.
