The Raiders will put in work on their off-week in order to be more on next time out.

The Oakland Raiders have four days off from work. And they're punching the clock.

After the end of practice Wednesday and with no game on Sunday -- a relief for some fans, after the 37-6 loss to Denver that dropped the Silver and Black to 1-3 on the year -- the Raiders were excused by Coach Dennis Allen for four days.

But quarterback Carson Palmer told the Bay Area News Group that he and many others on the struggling squad are sticking around to go to work.

"You can say, 'I'm going to Vegas and party for four days,' but that's not what this team is about," Palmer told reporters. "Most of the guys are sticking around and are going to come in and work out."

The Raiders' woes begin and end on third down, according to the newspaper.

Last week, the Raiders converted on a single third down attempt, giving the punter -- and the defense -- more work. And the defense gave up ten first downs on the Broncos' 16 third-down attempts, the newspaper reported.
