Raiders Ready for De La Salle's Jones-Drew

Bay Area resident and legendary Oakland Raiders coach John Madden had mad love for this week's Raiders opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"I think the Jaguars are the most underrated team in the NFL," Madden told the Los Angeles Times this week.

And these underrated Jaguars' most potent weapon is also a Bay Area product, De La Salle High School alum Maurice Jones-Drew. The MJD is the NFL's second-leading rusher, and has enjoyed five consecutive 100-yard games in a streak dating all the way back to October.

Jones-Drew didn't only catch Madden's attention with his spectaular play on the field. Jones-Drew also caught Madden's attention because Jones-Drew used to cut John Madden's lawn.

"One of my best friends lived right next door to him," Jones-Drew told the Times. "We used to come do his yard work for him. It was pretty cool."

The Raiders 23rd-ranked run defense will hope to make sure Jones-Drew gets very little work done on the grass Sunday.
