Reigning Champion Rico Abreu Gets 1st Stock Car Win

Rico Abreu has earned his first career stock car victory, racing to the win at Columbus Motor Speedway in Ohio.

Abreu set a track record in winning the pole for Saturday night's NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event. He then held on for the victory.

Abreu is the reigning USAC national champion and winner of this year's Chili Bowl. He made his stock car debut at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida in January, one week after his Chili Bowl victory.

The 22-year-old Californian is 4 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 95 pounds. He uses foot blocks to build up the accelerator area so he can drive.

Close friends and Sprint Cup regulars Kyle Larson and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who both raced against Abreu in midget cars, congratulated him via Twitter.
